AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini: Compact Halogen Light Source with Versatile Wavelength Precision

The AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini excels in the range of visible light to near-infrared. This compact and stabilized halogen light source features adjustable focusing for the fiber connection, optimizing output power at your chosen wavelength. Additionally, its versatile design includes an adjustable electrical power output, allowing users to either boost performance or extend bulb life.

The AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini has a front filter slot that accommodates 1″ round or 2″x2″ square filters. This allows users to block specific wavelength ranges or adjust the intensity as needed.

Its adjustable focus ensures that the maximum light output is efficiently transmitted through your optical fiber. Bulb replacement is straightforward and can be completed within minutes.

An optional combined direct-attach cuvette holder and attenuator (model CUV-ATT-DA-HAL) is also available upon request. For attenuation, users can use either the in-line filter holder (FH-INLINE) or the in-line attenuator (ATT-INL).

The optical output can be controlled via a dongle located at the rear or directly from the spectrometer. At the lowest setting, the light bulb achieves a color temperature of 2647K, providing an extended lifespan. In the standard or medium setting, the color temperature shifts to 2759K, offering about 30% more power and a bulb lifetime of 2000 hours. The high-power setting further increases the color temperature to 2879K, delivering roughly 70% more power compared to the long-life setting, albeit with a reduced bulb lifespan.

The AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini is equipped with an internal TTL shutter, which can be controlled through the AvaSpec spectrometer. This functionality enables the use of the automatic dark save feature in the AvaSoft spectroscopy software.
