Overview

Human dendritic immune cells (DC) are essential for the body’s immunological responses. Antigen-presenting cells (APC) known as DC are highly specialized and are found in the skin, mucosa, and lymphoid tissues.

DCs can be used in vitro to study contact sensitization and other bodily immunological reactions. They are crucial in the induction phase of contact allergenicity.

Upon request, autologous T cells (TC-100-CRY & TC-100-RT) are available.

DCs made by MatTek are produced from umbilical cord blood-derived CD34+ progenitor cells. Using a proprietary technique, a large number of cells are produced from each individual donor, enabling numerous experiments with constant cell origin and functionality.

When cultured with DC-MM in accordance with MatTek’s DC Culturing Protocol, CD1a and HLA-DR-expressing MatTek DCs can be kept alive for at least 14 days without experiencing any considerable changes in surface marker expression or functionality.

Transmission electron microscopy analysis of MatTek's DCs revealed the presence of Birbeck granules, an important ultrastructural marker of DCs and LCs. At the gene and protein expression levels, a repetitive and significant induction of IL-12, MIP-1α, MIP-3α, and TNFα is seen in response to LPS and PMA stimulation.

Additionally, after being exposed to an antigen, MatTek’s DCs can both stimulate and infect other cells with HIV.
