Overview
For 2D and 3D cell culture, FibriCol® is a solution of type I bovine atelocollagen at 10 mg/ml. FibriCol® hydrogels are firmer than products with lower concentrations of collagen due to their high concentration.
FibriCol® collagen is regarded as the gold standard among all collagens for functionality, purity (>99% collagen content), and the most natural-like collagen on the market. Bovine hides from the only regulated, closed herd in the US are isolated for FibriCol®.
The manufacturing procedures used by Advanced BioMatrix adhere to demanding quality standards, which have produced products with unmatched lot-to-lot consistency.
About 97% of the collagen in FibriCol® is Type I collagen, with the remaining 2% being Type III collagen. FibriCol® collagen is supplied at a concentration of roughly 10 mg/mL.
On a Certificate of Analysis that is provided with the purchase of each product, the concentration for each particular lot is listed. Since FibriCol® is soluble in 0.01 N HCl and atelocollagen, the pH is 2.
When high collagen concentrations are required, FibriCol® collagen is the best choice. For use and storage, FibriCol® collagen comes in a 20 mL volume and is housed in convenient packaging. FibriCol® is provided as a ready-to-use solution and is sterile filtered.
