Overview
The HyStem®-IRG QuickSet Kits contain UV-crosslinkable hyaluronic acid that facilitates 3D cell culture for tissue engineering and small-scale bioprinting applications.
Glycosil® (thiol-modified hyaluronic acid), Gelin-S® (thiol-modified gelatin), PEGCure (PEG-norbornene), and Irgacure 2959 Photoinitiator for photoinitiation are the components of the HyStem-IRG QuickSet Kit.
After being combined and exposed to UV light (365 nm), the contents form a transparent hydrogel. All vials are packaged as sterile, vacuum-sealed, lyophilized solids that are covered in argon and kept at a low temperature.
The HyStem®-IRG QuickSet Kit, one of the original hyaluronic acid-based light-controlled hydrogels, supports 3D cell culture for use in tissue engineering and small-scale bioprinting applications.
For micro-scale bioprinting, the HyStem®-IRG QuickSet Kit offers improved temporal and spatial control. In contrast to other hydrogel formulations, when exposed to ultraviolet light, gelation happens within 30–60 seconds as opposed to 30 minutes.
Features
- Optimized for micro-scale bioprinting applications
- Maintains standard characteristics of other HyStem hydrogels
- Enables faster, flexible gelation times
- Controlled by UV light
Applications
- HyStem® (thiol-modified hyaluronic acid), Gelin-S® (thiol-modified gelatin), UVlink™ (PEG-norbornene), Irgacure 2959 for photoinitiation, and DG water make up the HyStem® UV QuickSet kit
- After mixing the ingredients and exposing them to UV light, a transparent hydrogel is created
- All vials are packaged as solid lyophilized sterile materials that are slightly vacuumed and covered in argon
