Overview
For extrusion-based FRESH 3D bioprinting, Lifeink® 200 is a type I collagen bioink with a 35 mg/ml concentration. Lifeink® 200 is available as an isotonic, pH-neutral bioink that is ready for cell addition and bioprinting.
It is strongly advised to use the FRESH printing method and print at 2–8 °C when using Lifeink® 200. The effects of the extracellular matrix's (ECM) mechanical characteristics, such as density and rigidity, on cell development, migration, and morphology can be studied using three-dimensional (3D) gels.
In contrast to 2D systems, 3D environments enable cell extensions to interact simultaneously with integrins on all cell surfaces, activating particular signaling pathways. In 3D versus 2D environments, gel stiffness or rigidity also has a different effect on cell migration.
High Print Resolution, shear-thinning, strong mechanical strength, superior cytocompatibility, the ability to allow for cellular remodeling, and biomimetic properties should all be present in a bioink that resembles life. Lifeink® 200 satisfies these demands.
Lifeink® 200, a bioink with 35 mg/ml type I collagen, is a product that Advanced BioMatrix offers. The pH-neutral collagen Lifeink® 200 has a physiological salt concentration. Using a carefully monitored manufacturing process, the collagen starting material is purified.
