Overview
This Type III Collagen product from Advanced BioMatrix has been segregated from the human placenta and is refined with the help of a multi-step process with nearly 85% Type III collagen with the leftover being made of Type I collagen.
The product has been supplied as a sterile solution consisting of 10 mg at almost 1 mg/ml in 0.01 N HCl, pH 2.
Type III collagen product is offered in easy-to-use packaging for use and storage. This Type III collagen product has been sterile-filtered and is supplied as a user-friendly solution.
Type III Collagen offers structure and strength to connective tissue, and is found in several places in the body, particularly lungs, skin, intestinal walls, and the walls of blood vessels. Initially, collagen III is produced as procollagen, a protein comprising three pro-alpha1(III) chains that develop the triple-stranded, rope-like molecule.
After synthesis, the procollagen molecule has been altered by the cell. Enzymes help alter the amino acids proline and lysine in the protein strands by the addition of chemical groups that are essential for the strands to develop a firm molecule and then further crosslink to other molecules in the exterior part of the cell.
The Type III procollagen molecules have been discharged from the cell and are processed by enzymes that help clip small segments off either end of the molecules to develop mature collagen. The mature collagen molecules get arranged into fibrils. Cross-linking between molecules generates a highly stable fibril, adding up to collagen’s tissue-reinforcing function.
Normally, Type III Collagen is utilized as a thin coating on tissue culture surfaces or as a control. On a general basis, this product is utilized in vitro as a substrate scaffold to improve cell attachment, proliferation, and adherence. Type III collagen might be utilized to culture a range of cell types.
