Overview
For 2D and 3D cell culture, Nutragen® is a type I bovine atelocollagen solution containing 6 mg/ml. Nutragen® hydrogels are stronger than other collagen products with lower concentrations because they have a higher concentration.
In terms of functionality, purity (>99% collagen content), and most native-like collagen available, Nutragen® collagen is regarded as the gold standard among all collagens. Bovine hides from the only regulated, closed herd in the US are isolated for Nutragen®.
The manufacturing procedures used by Advanced BioMatrix adhere to rigid quality standards, which have been shown to produce unrivaled consistency from lot to lot.
Almost all of the collagen in Nutragen® is Type I collagen, making up about 97% of the total. An extremely firm gel is provided by Nutragen® collagen, which is supplied at a concentration of about 6 mg/mL.
A Certificate of Analysis that comes with each product purchase lists the concentration for each particular lot. The pH of Nutragen® is approximately 2.0 since it is soluble in atelo-collagen in 0.01 N HCl.
The collagen from Nutragen® is perfect for coating surfaces, creating thin layers for cell culture, or using it as a solid gel. For use and storage, Nutragen® collagen comes in a 50 mL volume and is housed in convenient packaging. Nutragen® is provided as a ready-to-use solution and is sterile filtered.
